It is important to have goals to strive for, intentions to live by and dreams to live for. First and foremost, you must Believe In Yourself! It is important to have positive people around you. You become the people around you, so surround yourself with positive people who support your greatness!!
Maybe you are not happy with your job, or you are really passionate about something, or you want to transform your body and get into the best shape of your life. It is time to dream big and go for it! Life is too short. We all need to follow our true passions. When we follow our hearts, everything falls into place. Have faith and believe that you can do it.
You can have all the support in the world, but if you don’t believe YOU can do it, it’s not going to happen. YOU make it happen by believing in yourself! Believe in your dreams & goals.
During my fitness career, one of my goals was to become a professional athlete. The top two spots in the national competitions qualified you to become professional. After four months of preparation per show, I placed third, three times in a row. I was very frustrated and not happy with the world or the judges. Just twelve weeks before my last chance to qualify at nationals, I was at the beach downtown Chicago, stepped off a rock and broke my right foot in two places. From that moment on, I decided never to let others control my own thoughts and feelings. I am in charge of my own thoughts and feelings. I got back to my positive mind-set. I wrote down on a note card, “I am the over-all national fitness champion.” I carried that card with me everywhere so I would see it, feel it and believe it. I indeed became the Overall National Fitness Champion of the Millennium! I became a champion and a professional athlete because I believed in myself.
One of my biggest challenges both mentally and physically was the process of becoming an American Gladiator. I had the support of my coach and my husband, but I need the confidence in myself in order to succeed. At the auditions, they were looking for contenders to be on the show. I told them I wanted to be a Gladiator. That was my only goal and I was determined to make it happen.
After numerous auditions, interviews, boot camp, I had three months of waiting on a decision. (It was the longest three months of my life!) I continued to train, be positive, stay motivated and healthy. When I did falter mentally or started to doubt, I had to pull myself out of it and get back on the positive and change my thinking to 100% confidence. It was not easy, but that is how “Venom” came to life and how I became a Gladiator.
Believe you have what it takes to go for that new job, follow your true passion, or transform your body. Believe that you can do it. Believe in yourself! Never forget, you truly can do anything you put your mind to.
Be Healthy. Be Happy. :)
