Take Responsibility for your Health!

Today the US and global economies are at an all time low.  Most of us have ever experienced a down economy like this. Capitalism as we once knew it has changed and will continue to change. I don’t think any of us will look at a dollar bill the same way we once did. Cutting costs, tightening our belts and doing without have become the current thread that runs through numerous households.

 

How does this affect your health?  In a myriad of ways. You are probably changing the way you shop. Protein sources are typically the most expensive food items. As such most families are probably cutting down on protein costs and consumption and increasing carbohydrate consumption, which in turn is kin to weight gain. Many workers are working Take responsibility for your healthharder and longer hours for the same or less money. I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t see this trend changing anytime soon.

 

When and if, this economic trend does change I highly doubt we will revert back to our old standards of work or spending. Employers and legislatures are feeling the crunch too, which is why changing our current health care system is such a hot topic today. You are paying more for less health care today. You can no longer count on your employer to cover all or even most of your health care costs, especially in the future.

 

There is just too much uncertainty in the air. That means you have no other alternative, but to put your personal health and well being at the top of your priority list. If you do not accept responsibility for getting and staying healthy you may literally be left in the dust……and I’m referring to 6 feet under. Brash, but nevertheless true. Now is the time for you to focus on a healthy diet and to step into a consistent and balanced exercise regime. If you don’t step up and make the choice you only have yourself to blame for the consequences.
